Default Release information.

Found this yesterday. It seems, from an inference from a Blizzard post on the forums, that Diablo 3 is at least a year away.

Diablo 3 Release Date 2011

I find this website pretty reliable so the information is authentic.

I have to admit the more I actually looked at D3 video it did remind me of WC3 type cartoony graphics, where the original D2 was unique in its more human/evil like graphics that was not concerned about the "little kids & ESRB".

I hope they really are doing a reskin.

Blizzard always releases up-and-coming games approximately 3 years before an "attempted" release. D3 seems to be following this time line.

The graphics don't bother me. As long as it looks good and plays smooth I don't mind the "cartoon style" graphics. As long as it isn't "cell shading" I think Blizzard can make it work. I have been impressed with D3 in its early stages. Blizzard has already said that all character classes are playable and the game was well underway before they released information about its development. As usual, Blizzard will spend years on fine tuning to try and grasp what made its former versions so enthralling.

actually the only reason why its been pushed back to 2011 is because their releasing sc2 and cataclysm in 2010 releasing 3 major titles in 1 year and not having nothing being released in 2011 = loses in 2011 so their just making content from now till 2011 because everything has been done already.

They claim that isn't the reason. Each game has their own development teams which entails separate release dates no matter what year. Their claim is "We always announce all of our games too early”, "referring to when Diablo III was unveiled at Blizzard’s Worldwide Invitational in 2008." ( Blizzard: ‘Who Knows’ When Diablo III WillShip - Techland - Time.com )

I don't mind as long as it is polished. Blizzard has never disappointed me.

Well that might be the case but

1. their not changing the graphics
2. the engine is complete

their sticking with the engine it will have been in developement for 6 years when its been released heres a abit of info i found.

"Development on Diablo III began some time in 2005 when Blizzard North was still in operation. The original artistic design differed from that shown at Blizzard Worldwide Invitational 2008 demonstration, and had undergone three revisions before reaching the standards felt necessary by the team behind Diablo III. The development teams comprised fifty people. Most of the game mechanics and physics are complete, and are undergoing minor revisions. Most of the current and remaining development will focus on adding game content." and that was in 2008 when the game was announced.

Proof? not saying it's not true but when you have a near finished game and you decide to push it back a whole year... things don't add up.

Exactly and this is my point just wiki diablo 3 thats where i got it from it doesnt take 6 years to make a dungeon crawler which is why im asuming its 2 do with them not wanting to release 3 games in 1 year.
