Manga sites down!?!@!
Its been a sad week for me, as my beloved onemanga has gone down for the count. And so have most of the Manga host sites. I know it has something to do with a lawsuite court order. I can understand about popular licenced Manga (i.e. Naruto One Piece) but to shutdown completely is a bit harsh. I went to those sites to read rare unknown mangas. The raises the question, is this precedence going to affect anime sub sites like gogoanime.com or crunchyroll?

Any chance you can find it archived? If I remember correctly their used to be sites out there dedicated to archiving sites. This wouldn't help with new manga being released but might be able to find your favs.

Good thing i still have source to read naruto and bleach atm., but it is a sad day, dont want to see anime sites goin down tho
not being able to see shit thats not available here sucks. If they came out with more anime channels on tv and had stuff dubbed i wouldnt care, same with manga.

I for one and glad that they are going down.
It will force people into purchasing the DVD or blu-ray, which will drive industry to make more anime.

Thats exactly how I like my manga/anime. Untouchable to the masses and still at its purest form.

Um no! Normal rules for supply and demand dont work for TV. Atleast not the department of "will drive the industry to make more anime." Just because people in the US like the show 30 Rock that doesnt mean they start making more TV shows nor do they slow down the earth's rotation to put more hours in the day so they can air those shows.
Sites like onemanga filled a void where the industry failed to meet the demand. And that is translation. Futher more american companies who import anime do a horrible job with voice actors or in the issue of manga translate issues that are 4 years old and try to sell them as new. These companies often take a great anime and censor it so they can market it to children. The market doesnt understand its audiance.
I could write a whole thesis on this topic im sure, but i have said my piece for now.
Arggg!
