New Planetside? Maybe?

So SOE says they are going to launch a new fps game 2011 (with a march est) and they have hinted(confirmed by some employees )at it being the next Planetside, or a continuation of the franchise.

With games like Firefall and Tribes coming out would you guys honestly give a company like SOE another chance?
(More or less asked to old planetside vets like myself.)

(Im tad bit skeptical towards anything that SOE does or says)

Well, I know im going to be watching a couple Planetside sites over the next few months watching for this.
Out of respect for old Planetside, SWG and the Matrix Online.

I think PlanetSide was great enough of a game to give them another chance because if it's anything like it then I'm not going to have a life.

Planetside was some of the most fun I've had in an MMO ever. My suggestion would be that if a few decide to enter the game (if it seems good) is to have a CnP presence but not an entire Clan. Large, well coordinated, clans reigned supreme in Planetside. I would definitely give it a shot.

Personally, I prefer PS game play style over Firefall or Tribes.

Why wouldn't we have an entire clan???

Planetside was easily my favourite MMO of all time. That game was legendary until the population drop. If they are ensuring a properly balanced game and similar stuff to PS1 it should be good.

Now the other thing will be waiting for pricing.

SOE have some top titles under their belts that's for sure so it should be one sweet game BUT I also agree they are not the most reliable publishers!

Planetside was a great game for it's time hopefully if they do a new one it will be on par..... they are gonna have to battle hard when the bigger titles come out like swtor, tera, firefall etc

I would play Planetside Next in a second. No hesitation. Could this announcement actually be for their game "The Agency" though? I would think that would be more likely. The most I've heard of Planetside Next was Smedley's blog a couple years ago. I'm not a corporate head honcho or anything, but I don't see how or why they could/would keep a Planetside sequel under wraps this close to a potential release date.

I honestly thought the same thing too, however the CR people at SOE said they were going to "continue the planetside franchise" but we know people can twist words around and make mistakes.

The thing is though, they have already released plenty of information about The Agency. I dont see why they wouldn't tell us the name of the game if it actually was The Agency. Unless its another fail ad stunt like that PS webcomic awhile back.

However, I was also thinking that if it was that maybe there is a big feature in The Agency that is big enough to make it considered the next planetside (long,long,longstretch)

But whatever it is hopefully they will clarify in the oncoming months.

Ew take those damn NC pics outta here :P. Thats really odd if they are talking release dates. They hint at maybe making a new game how many years ago and never say anything again then randomly come on and say ok it'll be out in a couple months possibly?
