World of Darkness

The creators of EVE Online (CCP Online) have been working with White Wolf Publishing to create a Vampire universe similar to Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. This game would be developed as an MMO under the title, World of Darkness. Recently the gaming world was informed that CCP Online had to lay off some of its employees and that the World of Darkness MMO development was going to be slowed (World Of Darkness MMO Put On Back Burner - News - www.GameInformer.com). From what I have been able to gather, World of Darkness will be an MMO similar to Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodline. A city scape teeming with Vampires. There will be a Masquerade system similar to that found in Bloodlines. As well there will be permanent death and strict penalties for griefers.

At first I was skeptical but if anyone can make permanent death interesting and intriguing it would be CCP Online. They have done a fantastic job with EVE Online and I would assume that this game will be of similar quality.

Well...I hope CCP can NOT make a shitty combat system for this game, and make it run like V:M. Would be nice.

I won't lie. I've been waiting for this (wasn't holding my breath, but I said to myself "It would be cool if White Wolf released another license to make WoD an MMO). I played a lot of World of Darkness games and it's a pretty awesome setting. And with CCPs Carbon Engine (their char generator), I think this game has as much potential as APB did back in the day, minus the shitty combat system (probably; I hope so).
