How to stop terran? help =\

So I know I'm not an expert SC player but I know the units, have good micro, have a solid initial build order, etc. So I'm not BAD per se but for some reason Terran just destroys me.

Obviously you cannot even rush terran early with zealots because they wall. So then what's the next step? Sometimes I go with 2-3 immortals, a sentry or two, 4-6 zealots around min 7:30 but it only works 50% of the time. Can't go void ray rush because marines just destroy them.

So then we're into the 10-20min game but what do i build? Usually upgrade my zealot charge, get some stalkers, and start pumping out colossus. Problem is, i get scanned, he knows what im doing, and then goes Battlecruiser or just TONS and TONS of marine maurader/medivac.

I dunno, just seems like Terran is always one step ahead. I know I have to scout better, make sure they don't expand, but I would love to hear some solid Terran help.

Also, usually against terran i have to prevent jump attack by either rushing to get a cannon near my minerals or rushing to stalkers but it's annoying nonetheless

    thanks!

    (this site is AWESOME btw)

    If terran go MMM...
You should be teching to High Templars, their storm is great against those clusters of units. I know its pretty high tier, but going HTs is a bit better than Collosi because their storm can hit air as well as do decent damage to tanks.
Don't feel comfortable teching all the way to HTs + getting their storm upgrade? If terran player is pressuring you way too early, maybe settle with an early collosus; just note that it is easier to counter a collosus.
What should you do before reaching HTs or collosi? Well terran infantry have great mobility due not only to their small size and stim speed, but their medivac support. That is why range units like that stalker, that are not exactly great against them, can stop kitting shenanigans with their matching ranges + blink. Zealots do decently against MMM in the early game scrimmages. If you do decide to go zealots, be sure to get their speed/dash upgrade. Without it, they will be horrible against the rauder's concussive shell effect + infantry range attack. Sentrys are a must; they provide their shielding ability which weakens enemy range attacks in the surrounding area and have a great microing function which is the force shield. Be sure to remember to use their abilities during engagements. Usually 2 sentries should be doing the shielding ability and the rest should be ready to drop force shields when/where -ever needed.
Keep in mind, MMM ball is so effective because they are at an advantage against all tier 1-2 units. So the key is to have a wide range of units (zealots, stalkers, sentries) to push back the pressure, while teching to their counter (collosi or HTs).

Hope this helps. You should post a replay of yourself losing to terran so we can give you more specific advice.

It's not about watching you lose, it's about gaining something from the time you spent, and learning from your mistakes. Here at CPunks we always ensure improvement by doing just that. So post on up and we'll be sure to help you.

Remember, there will always be a winner and a loser. The fact that you fought is the lesson itself.

I could not agree with you more. I actually just launched a skill teaching/learning site called BoomSkill.com and I added a Starcraft 2 skill section. Basically, people get to help people learn while making a little cash on the side.

I love learned and it's rare to find a site like Cyberpunks with so many quality players who want to help.

    I'll post a replay soon!

i THINK this is a 2v2 (i'm boomtown) against 2 terrans. My terran partner is a newblet and couldn't hold off initial rush. My build was off and played like crap once i knew my partner was dead (had two pathetic stalker attacks) but would still love some advice on how I should have played differently (scouting, teching, anything)

    edit: wrong replay
