Phoenix are very strong in PVP and are very versitile units. they force the opposing player to stay in his base while you are able to expand and gain a great sense of map control and what the other player is doing. Picking up units such as Immortals can be game breaking. Phoenix are also great counters to collosus because they can shoot while scooting.... The downside to phoenix play is that they are very time consuming and if you are unable to macro effectively while harrassing you are going to get over run. Def a unit worth experimenting with, GL!

Re: Phoenix question
Phoenix are indeed very strong , however here is in my opinion a very good stratagy to use with them!, he 2 gateways , transform to warpgates and 2 stargates,
mass zealots and phoenixes like around 10 ( make sure u chrono boost them and not zealots!). while also massing cheap zealots, with 10 phoenix if hotkeyed properly u practicaly never run out of the energy on them enabeling u to constantly pick up opponents. while attacking use the zealots to surround ground units and use phoenixes to pick up unites and the rest of them to kill the unit which is practically and instant kill. in conclusion in PVP if he has many stalkers and he focuses them on your phoenix , your zealots will easilly take them out . this stratagy works well pvp and even pvt but not very well against zerg as they usually attack in masses and only may work well early in the game when zerg has no anti air!
Another good tactic is to combine them with voids so they can kill enemies quicker as they are defenceleess!
Hope this helps, GL, HF!
