Simple and Effective Mouse Macro Software

HERE is a simple and effective mouse macro software link.

I never used macro's before but wanted to after realizing how many buttons I have to press in this game and my quickly diminishing ease of access to hotkeys.

This program allowed me to mesh 3 of my most commonly used abilities into one and really freed up my hotkeys and concentration to focus on more strategic actions.

Under the appropriate button simply scroll down to "simulated Keypress" (something like that) and there you can imput a string of your hotkeys in swtor. You should also add a custom profile for SWTOR so that the macro only works in SWTOR. Of course it's a good idea to relegate these macro'ed hotkeys into buttons far away from your left hand so those slots can be used for other abilities.

Tashum i moved this to the private forums because running a macro in the way you describe is not allowed in most games. If more info come out and ToR allows this ill move it back.

Alright sounds good Zhid. Now to continue discussing this possibly unfair edge...


Just to give you an idea of how I set this up (as a Vanguard); I inputted in this order the keys for: high impact bolt, stockstrike, hammer shot. This way my highest dmg/low cooldown abilities that I always want to use are on my thumb button.



When the first two are on cooldown and I need to manage my ammo I use the same button for hammershot, otherwise I use other abilities as needed.



Then I used keys like 7,8,9 for those three abilities and put hammer shot on the left quickslot. This way I have the first numbers and buttons around my directional keys available for other abilities.

Macros from what I have read are always allowed, in MMO's what they don't like is 3rd party software injecting code or making movements for you but macro software requires you to push buttons its just a key mapper if other people don't want to use it that's their problem. Both my Logitech keyboard and mouse allow for macro mapping with their software never got into trouble with it in wow.
