Protoss Vs Zerg (Air Attack) | Starcraft 2 | SC2
Protoss vs Zerg (air attack), in this guide you will see a break down with pictures on how to defeat a Zerg player in Starcraft 2 and correctly defend against an air assault by the Zerg player.
This build order works well on dual maps, but you can also use it on big maps, if your opponent spawns at the nearest position.
After you start, obviously build probes without a break, and then your build order should look like this:
09 probes - pylon
11 probes – use your boost to speed up probe production
13 probes – build a gateway and scout with your probe
13 probes – use your boost to speed up probe production
15 probes – make a gas assimilator
16 probes - use your boost to speed up probe production
16 probes – build a pylon
19 probes – build cybernetics core
19 probes - use your boost to speed up probe production
20 probes – zealot
24 probes – build stargate
25 probes – build a pylon
26 probes - make a second gas assimilator
26 probes – second zealot
28 probes – build a forge
29 probes – make a void ray and speed up his production (with boost)
32 probes – third zealot
34 probes – build one more pylon
34 probes – make photon cannon at the choke (if you know that Zerg is making lots of zerglings or roaches, make one or two more photon cannons)
When your void ray is ready, fly towards the Zerg base and by the way try to find and kill his overlords.

34 probes – make a phoenix
36 probes – fourth zealot
38 probes – speed up phoenix production (with boost)
39 probes – make second phoenix
Now is the important moment, when you’re at the zerg base, focus his queen with your void ray and raise with a phoenix (so it won’t attack you and won’t run away).

After you’ve killed the queen, try to kill all his overlords, or if you see his hydralisks, raise them in the air with your phoenix and kill them.
Even if the zerg will survive after such attack, you will have huge advantage and you could again attack him with your ground and air armies, or when you gain the advantage, secure your expansion and after that attack.
Some specific tactics with units:
1. If terran builds a marine-marauder army, the most effective way to deal with it is building a sentry. When the terran infantry attacks you, just use the defence field ability to minimize marine attack damage.
2. By using phoenix you can kill opponents’ workers really fast and in big fights you can raise your opponents’ most dangerous units in the air, rendering them useless.
3. If you’re using immortals, during the fights try to focus only armored units (tanks, marauders, roaches, stalkers etc), so the amplified damage is maximum.
4. After you make Colossus range upgrade, they will be able to evaporate opponents army from long distance without getting much damage themselves. A hit and run strategy is very effective to use, you can do maximum damage to your opponent.
5. When you get engaged in a fight, it’s very important for all your troops to attack at once and more likely from several sides. Because of this, all your armies will start attacking at once and some parts of the enemy’s forces which will stay at the back won’t attack for some time. This will give you an advantage in a fight.
Race vs. race strategiesProtoss vs Zerg (fast expand)
This strategy was well played in StarCraft: BroodWar, the thing is that it is very difficult to play against Zerg with weak economy, that’s why you need to grasp an expand at the most early time.
After you make a pylon near your expand, go scouting, and after that you put up a forge and place it so it covers the passage route to your main.

After that you build a nexus at your expand. In fifty percent of games the Zerg will try to kill off your expand or run through to your non-defended main base, so you need to put your buildings well in order to block zerglings.
This way you gain double advantage, since Zerg was building zerglings instead of drones. Your task is simply to survive against the zergling attack.
