I've been losing to this a lot lately. Just not sure how to beat it. Hallucinated Immortals maybe?
Anyways, it's a good build that any terran should know.

Do you mean the super early 1 Thor + some SCVs on repair push? Your only option is to have an immortal up by then + have your gateway units focusing the SCVs, assuming you were doing no scouting and didn't do an early poke/push yourself. Obviously, this would die to 2gate pressure.

i figure void rays could do pretty well against thor right? not only force him to stay in his base, but give you enough time to get enough t1 to deal w/ the marines

A VR response would depend on the map and positioning. For example on close air positions on metalopolis, VR could be decent. I know NexGenious at times goes VR against T, he succeeds when he doesn't lose many VRs and musters a huge flying chandelier fleet.

It al depends on maps and positions but try using a 2 gate robo opening and go more immortal stalker cutting your sentries to save on gas. Only problem is you need to know he is going for fast Thor. Ive never tried that build just cause it seems to all in for me. If you stop it the follow up is bad and I'm sure you don't FE in that build cause of mineral costs and really fast gas.

At 2k+ diamond I've ran into this again and man it's harder than it was in lower diamond. 8-12 marines + a Thor with 8 SCVs repairing, and units queued onto the Thor from his base makes this really deadly. If only Thors weren't massive this would be way easier lol. I've even tried this build myself and crushed Protoss.
I've noticed earlier that I said 2gate pressure is key, and I think it is still true. In addition, cheese (not really VRs because Thors + marines will kill them with ease) would prevent this build, too.
