counter to terran? (mm or mmm)
at the moment im having a bit of a problem every time i face terran as most of them go straight away into marines and marauders with medivacs later in the game. im pretty sure the counter for this is zerglings with banelings but at the moment game seems to last around 10mins. any comments, feedback or videos (videos would be awesome)?

the matchup is ZvT, you are encouraged to fast expand since terran has a relatively slow early game and can't really do much about you early expansion. once that is up i encourage getting 3-4 gas depending on what build you decide to go with.
my favorite build is the 14 pool, 16 hatch, into a zerg/baneling mix with infestors, and mutalisks. the key to this build is to get mutas out as soon as possible. What will normally happen is: you will get a fast expansion, make a bunch of lings to fend it off, then while you drone up at both bases, get a bunch of spine crawlers at your natural while you harass with your mutalisks. a good harass will keep him in his base, wasting money on scv's and missile turrets with a relatively low sized army. Its important to keep up good macro while you are harassing, all the while building up a bigger force than he has. get infestors and zerglings, get speed, and baneling/speed. when you can't harass any more, or you feel like you have a large enough army, go attack and finish him off. Remember, this whole time, you're on 2 bases and he's on 1.
There's also the hydra/baneling build which works fairly well but also required infestors. this build is more standard, with less harassment, but you have to pressure more if you plan on winning.
i hope this was helpful, now go out there and try it out.

have to say i dont normally expand that fast as it doesnt really improve my cash flow. but i guess the point is to be able to out mass the marines bio ball. how do you handle the drone to other unit production? do you focus on getting a certain amount of drones before you start pumping? that kind of thing. plus thanks for the advice

to optimally mine gas you need 3 gatherers, to optimally mine minerals you need 2 on the close patches, and 3 on the far one (there's normally 4 near and 4 far) that means, get 6 guys for gas, and 20 guys for minerals, any more is a little redundant, and you'll see guys running around trying to find a patch.
when do you drone? at the start, i get the initial 15 or so drones just to get me to 16 food then i get a queen, and depending on the situation, keep droning or ... make zerglings or some kind of defence if you need to defend. remember its important to always have an eye on your opponent, that'll allow you to expand without problems or defend against any sort of push. i drone whenever i get the chance to, if i don't plan on pushing out or getting more forces, i'll drone. i'll drone once i get a new expansion up. it really is a matter of preference, but i prefer to drone early, since that's the most cost effective time to do it. if you do it late, you'll be behind the whole game.
- i also like to drone in transition, while i'm changing techs
in this replay you'll see me getting a 14 pool 16 hatchery, switching into hydra/zerg/bane/infestor
the first time i drone hard, i was supply blocked (lol, i build like 4 overlords, not 2, and make like 15 drones at onces)
then with a lair i get hydralisks and banelings nest, late game i get infestors.
i realize there's very few things he can do, even with an expansion i saw him going MMM, and i assumed as much, so i kept with the build, anything else probably wouldn't have been a big difference.... more zerglings v tanks, or more hydras v air, neural parasite v anything massive.
