We talked about doing a discussion panel about how gaming is for girls a few days ago. Fox was mentioned as a possible guest panelist for the discussion. I've spoken with a female IRONFISTer, Jezanee, and she's up for participating.

This could be a very interesting discussion topic for a podcast, especially if girl gamers talk about their experiences and treatment within gaming communities. Sexism is very common within gaming clans and communities, with many clans refusing to admit female gamers.

How do y'all want to organize this panel discussion?

Not sure, perhaps we can introduce the topic and have them talk it out or we can just talk amongst ourselves like we do with a regular group discussion.

female gamers, as i understand, are a rare and prized occurance. what clans, exactly, refuse to admit them? I think you can saftely ignore.

I believe the majority of the top guilds in WoW are no girls because of their "inherent lack of skill and distracting qualities" (This isn't my statement, don't send me pm's about it.)

I know a ton of girl gamers. And this whole "Sexism is very common within gaming clans and communities, with many clans refusing to admit female gamers." is really not true. It might be rampant with the little 13-17 year olds who just discovered that their dicks weren't just meant to piss out of, but I haven't come across any sexism in the industry in the last decade among people who actually matter (read: not those cuntphobic asswrecking cockwrangling teenaged kids who chimp* at games like Halo and Gears).

Went to many QuakeCons and CPL and CAL matches and girl gamers were integrated quite nicely into the rest of the hulking smelling masses of guys. In fact, some lead teams and did VERY well.

My GW GVG team was led by a girl and we made it to the top 10 bracket both times in the first two years of the game.

*Chimping = when something makes you go "Ooh ooh ooh!" like a chimpanzee. ^^

The bottom line is I want a mid-age girl to be on the podcast with us who has a strong opinion on this. She needs to be between 21-27 I would say.

This is necessary to have on board with us for the podcast this week.

Infact most of the girls I know hate video games really bad, idk why.
Imo there is prolly alot more female gamers than we think, its just that they don't want to say anything about it cause they risk harrasment. I mean how many times have you seen in a group in WoW. We just wiped or something and then someone is a girl and they all start blaming her. Well its retarded but thats what happens.
Its just like playboy subscriptions.
